This year in total 320 innovations have been submitted to the DLG (Deutsche Landwirtschafts-Gesellschaft – German Agricultural Society) by manufacturers of agricultural machinery and equipment. An international Innovations Commission from experts from different areas like research and academia, consultancy and practical farming have been selecting the Silver Medal winners based on strict criteria. Those criteria are amongst others the innovative character of a development and the practical improvements of functions or processes. In total 2 gold medals and 39 silver medals have been handed out for the most innovative manufacturers of agricultural machinery and equipment.

Kverneland Group Nieuw-Vennep has been awarded for GEOspread® on the RO-EDW and Exacta-TL weighing spreaders. GEOspread® offers the solution to avoid overlap and/or missing areas on headlands and in fields with non rectangular shapes or obstacles. GEOspread® performs a simultaneous adaptation of the spreading width and flow rate by electronic steering in real time of the dosing system and of the fertiliser discharge point towards the disc. This unique combination of real-time working width and application rate steering makes the GEOspread® system very accurate; the influence of flexible and asymmetric working width on the overlap is taken into account and the coefficient of variation remains excellent. This avoids fertilizer waste and pollution and results in substantial cost savings for the farmer.

The DLG President will present the winners of the Silver Medals on Sunday 13^th of November. All innovations will be presented on the DLG stand A30 in hall 19 at the Agritechnica. The Kverneland Accord Exacta-TL GEOspread® spreader will also be showcased in this special area of the DLG.
